Transactıons To
Reduce Heat Transfer Between Two Envıronments In Dıfferent Temperatures Are
Called Heat Insulatıon. See Our New Generatıon Solutıons.
Processes to reduce
the heat transfer between two environments with different temperatures are
called thermal insulation. This process in buildings; It is made by applying
heat insulation materials to walls (exterior walls), roof and floor with heat
loss. Sheathing, insulation, exterior sheathing and exterior insulation
processes are the most basic heat insulation method.
What are the
benefits of thermal insulation?
With thermal
insulation and exterior sheathing, the heat loss from the building to the
outside is reduced compared to the uninsulated condition, thus the amount of
fuel consumed for heating is reduced. The amount of this reduction varies from
50% to 70% depending on the climate of your building. In other words, if you
have a house that is uninsulated and does not have exterior sheathing and you
consume 100 units of fuel per month to heat your house in winter, you can
isolate your house and reduce this consumption to 50 units or even 30 units. In
other words, instead of a $ 100 fuel bill per month, you pay $ 50 or even $ 30
bill per month.
In thermally
insulated walls, molds, black stains and blistering of plaster or paint (a
condition which is very common in winter, but called as water leakage from
outside) do not occur as a result of sweating on the inner surfaces.
There are no
regional hot-cold differences that cause illness within the living rooms, thus
reducing health expenditure.
Since there will be
no water condensation as a result of diffusion inside the heat-insulated walls,
the materials on the walls do not corrode (eg, construction steels do not rust
and thin).
Thermal insulation
and exterior sheathing buildings less fuel will burn the amount of air
pollution is reduced.
Is thermal insulation expensive?
Thermal insulation
also has a certain cost. However, this cost is between 2% and 5% of the
building construction cost. Moreover, the money given to the thermal insulation
application is recovered (amortized) over several heating seasons by burning
less fuel and installing a smaller capacity heating system.
Let us give a
concrete example; Imagine an apartment with 5 floors and each apartment has 90
m2 each. This apartment in the insulated case (which Turkey 'UzdUr without
insulation of buildings, almost all) the heat loss and fuel consumption, fuel
consumption and compare it with the heat loss of the insulated case.
A comparison between
the insulated and uninsulated condition of the apartment in terms of heat loss
and fuel consumption:
Total thermal
requirement of the building (kW): 88.2
Total heat
requirement of the building (kW): 32.2
Seasoning Natural
Gas Consumption of Building (m3): 11.782
Seasoning Natural
Gas Consumption of Building (m3): 4.282
Sheathing,
non-exterior sheathing without external cladding Boiler Cost of the Building
(USD): 2.531
Sheathing, exterior
sheathing and exterior wall cladding Boiler Cost of the Building (USD): 893
Sheathing, external
sheathing, non-siding, uncoated Cost of building (USD): 2.995
Sheathing, exterior
sheathing and exterior wall cladding Rayator Cost of Building (USD): 1.030
Total Cost of
Building Heating System (USD): 5.526
Sheathing, exterior sheathing and exterior cladding of the building Heating System Total Cost (USD): 1.923
As it can be seen,
seasonal heat consumption is reduced from 11782 m3 to 4282 m3 and energy saving
is provided by thermal insulation and exterior sheathing and insulation of this
apartment building.
However, the
application of thermal insulation brings an extra construction cost to the
building compared to the uninsulated situation. However, this cost increase is
offset by the seasonal fuel cost and the reduction in the initial investment
cost of the heating system. If the depreciation account is made, it is seen
that this period is approximately 4 years (4 heating seasons). This means that
the residents of the apartment will be in constant profit after the first 4
years by paying less fuel bills. Of course, a 4-year depreciation period cannot
be said to be long for a building with an average life of 50 years. In
addition, the comfort conditions you will provide with thermal insulation will
be an extra benefit.
Does the sheathing,
exterior sheathing and exterior cladding, isolation process only have
individual benefits?
No, they have social
gains; Turkey, according to SIS data (1996)% of the total energy consumed 61.5%
of total consumption of imports and 29 'are used to heat the building. Now
let's look at the monetary value.
For example, in
1998, 18.784.000 Tons of Equivalent Oil (TEP) energy was consumed in the
houses. This amounted to $ 2,959 million as fuel oil, and $ 3,923 million (USD)
for natural gas. (The data are taken from the Energy Statistics booklet of the
World Energy Council Turkish National Committee in 1998.)
If our buildings were thermally insulated and exterior sheathing, it would have been possible to save approximately $ 1.5-2 billion energy per year on the assumption of 50% saving on average. Moreover, in the current situation, the number of natural gas subscribers could be doubled with the same amount of natural gas supplied to the houses.
I want to make exterior sheathing, exterior coating
and insulation to the building I am using, is it possible?
Various thermal
insulation applications are possible in the buildings used (existing
buildings). Depending on the physical condition of the building, one floor
(internal insulation) or the whole building can be applied.
I use a stove in my house and I heat a single room, what
is the benefit of jacketing, insulation and siding?
In the walls without
thermal insulation, the inner surfaces of the walls become cold and the water
vapor in the indoor air condenses on these cold surfaces. As a result of
condensation, the walls get wet and as a result of the wetting lasting for
weeks, black mold and fungi form on the walls. You cannot solve this problem
with paint, whitewash or plaster. The only way to prevent this is to increase
the internal surface temperatures of the walls. That is to make your walls
thermal insulation.
All thermal
insulation materials have advantages and disadvantages over the details in
which they are used. There are different thermal insulation materials suitable
for different details. An insulating material cannot be used in every detail.
Specialists should be consulted for the selection of appropriate details and
materials.
